Eyesalve: Copy Cats

Eyesalve: Copy Cats

But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed. 12For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision. 13And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation.” Gal. 2:11-13

Once a spiritual leader walks in hypocrisy it doesn’t take long for the rest to follow. Let the other side be true as well; once a spiritual leader walks in truth and power let it not take long for the rest to follow.

Eyesalve: Let The Holy Spirit Teach

Eyesalve: Let The Holy Spirit Teach

For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.” Gal 1:12

I usually encourage new born believers to get a bible without study notes. The reason is because they need to learn to let the Holy Spirit be their teacher. There is not a better way to understand the scriptures than by revelation of Jesus Christ. One glimpse of Christ and the bible will open wide.

Eyesalve: Revelation Can Make One Proud

Eyesalve: Revelation Can Make One Proud

Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities. 6For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me. 7And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.” II Cor. 12:5-7

Paul in his first letter to the Corinthians taught that knowledge puffs up. But here he makes it clear that an abundance of revelations can also cause one to become proud. There is no one that knows this better than me. I have repented, and do repent for considering other Christians less spiritual because they don’t get some things that the Lord has showed me. Revelation comes from God, not from our self. Love revelation knowledge and seek God for more of Christ but beware that you too can get proud.

Eyesalve: Revelation of Christ, Not Teachings of M...

Eyesalve: Revelation of Christ, Not Teachings of Man

But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.” Gal. 1:11-12

I wonder why Calvinists don’t get these verses. Holding to teachings of a man that don’t line up with the bible so you have to clarify those teachings by naming then after a man, and then going even a step further by declaring Calvinism to be the gospel is about as opposite this scripture you can be. Calvinists need to just read their bibles. They need a revelation of Christ not immersed in the teachings of a man.

Eyesalve: The Need For Revelation

Eyesalve: The Need For Revelation

But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.” Gal 1:11-12

Paul was an expert in the Old Testament scriptures and in the law and traditions of the elders. However, he only knew his bible with his natural eyes. He may have risen early in the morning to pray and read the scriptures and then go forth to hunt down Christians. How can that be? If you could have asked him why he did such a thing he would probably say that those Christians are preaching contrary to the law and the scriptures. He would have used the scriptures as his authority. But one day that all changed, on the road to Damascus he caught a glimpse of Christ. From that moment on he was never the same again. Now the scriptures he read his whole life took on a whole new meaning and dimension. He became one of those he persecuted. Church, how we need a revelation of Christ today.

Eyesalve: David Church, Saul Church

Eyesalve: David Church, Saul Church

And it came to pass on the morrow, when the Philistines came to strip the slain, that they found Saul and his three sons fallen in mount Gilboa. 9And they cut off his head, and stripped off his armour, and sent into the land of the Philistines round about, to publish it in the house of their idols, and among the people.” II Cor. 31:8-9

David represents the righteous church; Saul represents the backslidden or lukewarm church. When the church fails to properly exalt Christ, when she gets overcome with sin, she has, in the eyes of all religion that is opposed to Christ, been defeated. Then the false church and religion rejoices in their houses of false worship. When true worship is in the church it is dead in the temples of idols. When false worship is in the church, there is rejoicing in the temples of idols. Let’s help keep those temples of idols a very boring place.

Eyesalve: One Husband

Eyesalve: One Husband

For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.” II Cor. 11:2

There is a desperate call today for the church to come together in unity. But true unity will never happen until ministers espouse the flock, which God has given them charge over, to that ONE husband, the Lord Christ Jesus.

Eyesalve: God’s Approval Brings Peace

Eyesalve: God’s Approval Brings Peace

For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.” II Cor. 10:18

We must constantly guard our hearts from desiring the approval of men at the sake of disproval from God. It is so easy to fall into that trap. There is an indicator called peace that helps us keep our heart right in this matter. If you have the approval of men but lack peace, then you don’t have God’s approval. If all men were to hate you for what you say or do but you have God’s approval, then the peace of God will strengthen you against all those that would rail against you. Commend your ways to the Lord and enjoy His peace. David said in the Psalm 34, “..seek peace, and pursue it.” Living by God’s approval is one great way to seek peace.

Eyesalve: Talking or Preaching?

Eyesalve: Talking or Preaching?

And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:” I Cor. 2:4

People love to talk. Some even like to talk about God. But if there is no revelation of Christ and truth, if the Spirit doesn’t openly display Christ, then there is no preaching; it is just talk.

Eyesalve: Dying While Living

Eyesalve: Dying While Living

For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.” II Cor. 4:16

The faithful Christian has two things happening in their life. Their outward man, which includes all the lusts of the flesh, is constantly in the death mode while the inner spiritual man is continually springing forth in new life. John the Baptist was one of the first to understand this when he said may He increase and I decrease. Saints, if you let Him increase that old man will die off. That is real liberty.
