Which Was And Is And Is To Come

Which Was And Is And Is To Come

Rev. 1:4; “John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;”

Rev. 1:8; “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Rev. 4:8; “And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.”

All three of these verses are talking about Jesus when it says “which is.” For the most part a great majority of people know some things about Jesus. But to most, He is just a religious figure. Many claim to know Him and serve Him but the bible teaches us that there are few that really find Him. There are few who really know who this Jesus is.

Just exactly who is this one called Jesus?

He is the one that always was. He created the heavens and the earth and all they contain in 6 days.

He is the one that confounded the language of men, He is the one that caused feast or famine. He is the one that destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah with fire and Egypt with ten plagues. He is the one that split the Red Sea for Israel to cross over on to dry land and brought the waters back again that Pharaoh and his army would be destroyed. He is the one that made bitter waters sweet and made water to flow from a rock. He is the one that rained bread from heaven and covered the camp with quail. He is the one that His people with a cloud by day and fire by night, and spoke to Moses in a thick cloud. He is the one that has a voice like a trumpet. He is the one that gave us 10 commandments to live by.

He is the one who made a donkey talk. He is the one that stopped up the waters of the Jordan and caused the walls of Jericho to fall. He is the one that caused the sun to stand still so Joshua could defeat the 5 Kings of the Ammorites. He is the one that raised up Judges and Prophets to lead His people. He is the one that prefers obedience over sacrifice. He is the one that gave strength to men so that he could kill a thousand men with a jaw bone of a donkey, kill 300 men with a spear and topple a giant with a stone.

He is the one that licked up the water by sending fire on a water soaked altar. He is the one that causes rain and drought. He is the one that kept a widows oil from running dry and caused another widows pot of oil to fill many vessels. He is the one that made an ax head float and removed the harm from a pot of poisonous stew. He is the one that struck the Syrians blind.

He is the one that judges and blessed Kings. He is the one that had Haman build his own gallows.

He is the one that commands the morning and causes the dayspring to know its place. He is the one that has entered the springs of the sea and has perceived the breath of the earth. He is the one that knows where the light dwelleth and the place where darkness is. He is the one that sends lightning and numbers the clouds. He is the one that knows when the wild goats bring forth their calf and gives goodly wings to peacocks. He is the one that gives the horse its strength and causes the eagle to mount up at His command. He is the one that decks Himself with majesty and excellency and arrays Himself with glory and beauty. He is the one that can draw out the leviathan with a hook, and play with him as with a bird.

He is a shield and the glory and the lifter of our head. He is a rock, fortress, deliverer, strength, buckler, horn of our salvation and a high tower. He is worthy to be praised. He is the one that shows Himself merciful, upright, pure and forward. He is the Lord, King and Shepherd. He is the one whose eyes are upon the righteous and His ears are open unto their cry. He is the one that will give you the desires of your heart if you delight in Him. He is the one souls panteth for and follow hard after. Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised. He is the one that searches us and knows our heart and tries us and knows our thoughts. He is the one whose mercy is great unto the heavens and His truth unto the clouds. He is the one that joyful noises are made unto and songs are sung to.

He is the father of the fatherless and the judge of widows. He is the one that daily leadeth us with benefits. He is the one we can put our hope and trust in. It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord. He is good, ready to forgive and plenteous in mercy. He is great and doest wondrous things. He is mightier than the noise of many waters and His testimonies are very sure. He is clothed with honor and majesty and covers Himself with light as a garment, and stretches out the heavens like a curtain. He is the one whose mercy endureth forever. He is the one that healeth the brokenhearted, bindeth up their wounds, lifteth up the meek, and takes pleasure in them that fear Him. Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord.

He is the beginning of wisdom, knowledge and understanding

He is the one that gives riches and wealth and the power to eat thereof.

He is the rose of Sharon and the lily of the valley. He is our well beloved and we are His.

He is the child born unto us. He is wonderful, the counsellor, the Mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. He is the branch of Jesse. He is the one whose thoughts and ways higher than ours.

He is the one that knows everyone’s deceitful and desperately wicked heart and gives a heart to know Him. He is the one you can find when you search for Him with all your heart.

He is the one that gave interpretations for a dream about a kingdom and kingdoms to come. He is the one that was walking in the midst of the fiery furnace. He is the one that closed the mouth of lions and then opened the mouth of lions.

He is the one that caused a great fish to swallow a prophet and spared the great city of Ninevah.

He is Emanuel, God with us. He is the one that astonished those that were at the temple when He was only twelve. He is the one that was about His Fathers business. He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. He is the one that was baptized in the Jordan and filled with the Spirit. He is the one that baptizes in the Holy Ghost and fire. He is the one that answered the devils temptations with the scriptures and sent the devil fleeing. He is the one that was anointed to preach the gospel to the poor, heal the brokenhearted and preach deliverance to the captive. He is the one that gives sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, and strength to the lame. He is the one that raised Lazarus from the grave and Jairus’ daughter from the death bed.

He is the one that filled nets with fish and fed 9000 with a few fish and loaves. He is the one that cleansed lepers from leprosy and the temple from money changers. He is the one that cast out a legion of demons. He is the Lord of the Sabbath. He is the bread of life, He is the light of the world, He is the door, He is the good shepherd, He is the resurrection and the life, He is the way the truth and the life, and He is the true vine and of course the Great I AM.

He is the straight gate and the narrow way. He is the once that the world hateth but is the friend of publicans and sinners. He is the Rabbi and teacher who has come from God to pronounce, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” He is the one that rebuked the Pharisees, Saducees and priests and even His own disciples, but blessed the little children. He is the one that walked on water and turned water into wine. He is the one that preached from mountains and boats, in temples and along the coast. He is the one that the wind and sea obey. He is the one that continued all night in prayer and taught men to pray. He is the Christ, the Son of the living God. He is the one that desired to sit down and eat with His disciples. He is the one that sweat drops of blood in prayer while His disciples slept. He is the one that died on a cross for our sin but rose from the grave to give us resurrection power. He is the one that ascended into heaven but is coming again. He is the one that gives us the ability to be son’s of God. He is the one that gives good gifts to the church. He is truth, He is love and light and in Him is no darkness at all.

He is the one that no one knows the day and hour of His return. He is the one that will return like a thief. He is the one that will be coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

He is the one whose head and hair is white like wool, as white as snow, and eyes as a flame of fire, feet like unto fine brass. He is the one that has seven stars in His right hand and out of His mouth comes a two edged sword and His countenance is as the sun shineth in his strength. He is the lamb that had been slain that alone is worthy to open the book and loose the seals. He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and last. He is the root and offspring of David and the bright and morning star.

And He is coming soon. He said, “Surely I come quickly.” “He was and is and is to come.”

Even so, come Lord Jesus.”

Surely He is. He is worthy to receive glory and honor and power. He is worthy to receive our praise.

I have the inability in myself to proclaim Who He is. But who could tell of all His greatness? If all “things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written.” Jn. 21:25

Know assuredly that God has made this Jesus both Lord and Savior.

Acts 1:11 says, “this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.”

He is coming again.

For 4,000 years the Jews waited for the coming of the Messiah.

When He came most missed it.

He is coming again, most will miss it again.

He is coming as a thief.

Are you watching and waiting and looking for His return?

The Great I AM is going to show up on this earth again.

This time He will come to establish His kingdom on earth.

He won’t be lying in a manger this time.

He won’t have to slip past the crowds that want to throw Him off the bluff.

He won’t be turned over to the hands of wicked men to be crucified.

He won’t be the soft tender Jesus so many make Him out to be.

He is coming as King!

He is coming in great power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.

Are you ready?

Have you fully repented and have you been baptized for the remission of sins.

Have you received the gift of the Holy Ghost?

If not, now is your opportunity.

Why wouldn’t anyone want to serve such an ALMIGHTY GOD as He?

He is the winner, He won the victory.

God is on the throne, Jesus is alive and the devil is defeated.

Are you ready to go?
