Eyesalve: The Best Bride

That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.” Eph. 5:27

Wrapping up the Eyesalves from this week I want to make the point again that we owe Christ the best bride we can give Him. When I married my wife Joy, she spent a lot of money buying her wedding dress. She spent the whole morning on that wonderful wedding day making herself as beautiful as she could be, and what a great job she did. We invited around 400 people to our wedding and I was ready to let them all see the beautiful woman I was marrying. She didn’t show up in jogger pants and a sweatshirt with a hole in it, she had her wedding garment on. Her hair was fixed nicely under her veil. When she came down the aisle everyone saw her stunning beauty, but I alone was going to have her. Saints, let this whole world see the beauty of the bride that the Lord alone will receive. Let’s give Christ the bride He deserves.
