Eyesalve: Would You Still Honor God?
“And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men. 12And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker. 13Then the priest of Jupiter, which was before their city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people. 14Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out,” Acts 14:11-14
Could it be that one of the reasons we have so few men of God in the ministry today be because few would be able to resist the temptation to receive the accolades and the praise that could be offered to them? We often have to deal with standing strong when men persecute us and ridicule us for being a Christian, how about if men were to praise you instead; would you still honor the Lord?

Hi Church, I love you all and miss you all, and hopefully will get a chance to come out this week for revival! Anyway here’s my comment:
Lets make sure that we are giving our praises to God and not to man, because who is it that works any good in us but God. We need to be careful that we can encourage one another in the Word, yet not flatter with our lips.
