âAnd it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the LORDâS anointed is before him. 7But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.â I Sam. 16:6-7
Some Christians have eluded to this scripture when they are trying to hide or justify their less than Christian behavior. They say in response to those that challenge them, âyou are looking at the outward, but God knows my heart.â I donât know if Christians really grasp the truth of what they are saying. That should cause every Christian to tremble to know that God does know their heart. Man can be fooled, but God isnât. He also knows the heart of every Christian when they are raising their hands in worship at church.
