“And Moses said unto the LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight. 13Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.” Ex. 33:12-13
Moses is reminding God of the grace that he has shed on him. You could say that Moses is taking advantage of the grace of God, he is using it to move the heart of God. However, Moses is not taking advantage of grace like some do and think it is a permission to sin, he is pleading God’s grace for three reasons.
1. That God would show Moses the way.
2. That He might know Him more.
3. That God would have mercy on the nation of Israel.
