Eyesalve: Demonstrated Love

By | Eyesalve

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Jn. 3:16

My wife and I were talking the other night how when we say “I love you” to each other, we can’t help but say, “I love you” back. Then a thought came to me and I said to Joy, I never heard God say to me that He loves me. Then I began to think that I never read in the gospels where Jesus said directly to anyone that He loves them. But, I answered my own thought and I said to Joy, God never said to me that He loves me, He just showed it to me. The point behind this is, “Demonstrated Love far Surpasses Verbal Love.”

Eyesalve: They Called Them Christians

By | Eyesalve

“And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.” Acts 11:26

The word “Christian” means a follower of Christ. Those in Antioch noticed that these believers followed Christ, therefore they called them Christians. Christianity would be much different if those of this world noticed that Christians were followers of Christ, because it was obvious they did follow Christ, instead of Christians having to try to convince others that they are a follower of Christ.

Eyesalve: Can’t Help It

By | Eyesalve

“And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.” Acts 4:31

Those that speak the word of God with boldness are not appreciated by this world, except for those that are looking for salvation. Unfortunately, many in the church do not like bold preaching either. They want to hear something smooth. The problem is that if our preachers are Spirit filled men of God, then they cannot help it, but to speak bold. Boldness is the results of being endued with power from on high.

Eyesalve: From Glory to Glory

By | Eyesalve

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” II Cor. 3:18

Religion expects a quick outward change of an individual. Liberalism expects no change. But the changing of the inner man which is conformity to the image of Christ, is the real change. This change happens from glory to glory.

Eyesalve: It’s Fruit, Not Knowledge

By | Eyesalve

“Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.” Mt. 12:33

There is a very strong delusion overcoming people today, it is that bible knowledge is evidence of salvation. However, the biblical standard prescribed by Jesus is that you know true believers by their fruit. Knowledge is not the evidence, fruit is.

Eyesalve: God Knows

By | Eyesalve

“And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the LORD’S anointed is before him. 7But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.” I Sam. 16:6-7

Some Christians have eluded to this scripture when they are trying to hide or justify their less than Christian behavior. They say in response to those that challenge them, “you are looking at the outward, but God knows my heart.” I don’t know if Christians really grasp the truth of what they are saying. That should cause every Christian to tremble to know that God does know their heart. Man can be fooled, but God isn’t. He also knows the heart of every Christian when they are raising their hands in worship at church.

Eyesalve: Believers Overcome Quoters

By | Eyesalve

“And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. 7Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God… Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. 11Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.” Mt. 4:6-7,10-11

Those that believe the bible will overcome them that just quote the bible.

Eyesalve: A New Heart

By | Eyesalve

“A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.” Eze. 36:26

When a person is born again they don’t get a changed heart, they get a new heart, a heart of flesh that can be changed from glory to glory. A stony heart is unchanging and hard and is impossible to reshape. A heart of flesh is like clay in the hands of the potter. The new heart loves what you didn’t love before, the new heart hates what you didn’t hate before.

Eyesalve: God’s Thoughts Are Higher

By | Eyesalve

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isa. 55:8-9

Ministers and ministries put forth great effort to promote and build large extravagant church buildings with clever programs to function on the inside. The masses can’t help but to think that God certainly has to be behind such great success. However, these things may seem huge in man’s estimation, they are puny before God. Man can do all those things on his own just by raising enough money. God’s thoughts are higher than man’s thoughts. God’s thoughts believe the impossible to be possible. A thought that tells you to hold your rod out over a sea and it will split, is God’s thoughts. A thought that tells you to step in the Jordan, it will roll back is God’s thought. A thought that tells you to speak to the sun and it will go backward ten steps is God’s thought. A thought that tells you to soak an altar with water and then call fire down from heaven is God’s thought. Yes indeed, God’s thoughts are higher than mans.

Eyesalve: Love Fervently

By | Eyesalve

“Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: 23Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.” I pe. 1:22-23

Verse 22 says, “love one another with a pure heart fervently.” Verse 23 follows that demand by reiterating that we are born again by an incorruptible seed. The kind of love, “with a pure heart fervently,” is impossible for anyone to do unless they are born again. If you have a hard time loving the brethren from a pure heart and with fervency more than likely it is because you have not really been born again.
