Eyesalve: Never the Loser

By | Eyesalve

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” Rom. 8:35-37

Who, but Christians, can be in the midst of tribulation, distress, persecution and such and never be the loser?

Eyesalve: All The Day

By | Eyesalve

“Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day.” Ps. 71:8

Some Christians may say that this verse is an exaggeration. Who can praise and honor God all day long? If you know a man that is going to be marrying a virgin that he loves, ask him who is on his mind. Ask the family who is going on a great vacation in a few days what their minds are on. Ask young children a few days before Christmas what they are thinking about. You can’t help but to think about and ponder on that which you are excited about.

Eyesalve: Save Our Planet

By | Eyesalve

For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.” Rom. 8:22

All this talk about saving the planet. How can man save a planet he corrupted? There was no problem with our planet until man fell into sin. Now our planet groans and no nation or nations can do anything about it except one thing. Quit sinning!

Eyesalve: Don’t Dabble

By | Eyesalve

And it came to pass afterward, that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah. Jdg. 16:4

Up to this point of the story, it never said that Samson loved the women that he had encounters with. Now we see that Samson loved Delilah. The lesson we learn is if you keep on dabbling and entertaining sin, one day you will love it to your destruction.

Eyesalve: What the Sinner Needs

By | Eyesalve

Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.” Jn. 4:10

Jesus knew the Samaritan woman was a fornicator and he had no problem exposing it in her life. However, when he approached her, He did not come to her with a list of religious rules to obey or with a condemning heart, He came offering her living water. Hallelujah! Living water is the answer for every sinner.

Eyesalve: Throw Away The Jawbone

By | Eyesalve

And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking, that he cast away the jawbone out of his hand, and called that place Ramathlehi.” Jdg. 15:17

Samson may not have been the best example of a godly man, but one thing he did that was right is to throw away that jawbone. He recognized that the jawbone was not the implement of his victory, but that it was the Spirit of God who gave him the victory.

Eyesalve: No Secrets

By | Eyesalve

In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.” Rom. 2:16

If you don’t have any secrets there won’t be anything to judge. Keep your heart exposed before God.

Eyesalve: What Their God Gives

By | Eyesalve

Wilt not thou possess that which Chemosh thy god giveth thee to possess? So whomsoever the LORD our God shall drive out from before us, them will we possess.” Jdg. 11:24

The people of Ammon came and made war with Israel because they wanted to take land from them. Jephthah spoke boldly, and maybe even a little sarcastic when he told the people of Ammon to take what their god Chemosh would give them. Shame on us Christians when we want what the world has, for they should want what we have. If we want what this world has, it will come through the god of this world, and he has come to steal, kill and destroy.
