Eyesalve: Be a Fellow Helper

By | Eyesalve

We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellowhelpers to the truth.” III John 1:8

One of the main reasons for division in the church today is that you have those who promote truth and those who do not. It isn’t that those who don’t promote truth are actually aware of it, for often they don’t realize what they are doing. Anytime there is even a slight rejection of the whole truth of God, then division is happening between them and those who are totally surrendered to truth. Will you be a fellow helper of the truth?

Eyesalve: As Christ Has loved

By | Eyesalve

As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love12This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.” John 15:9,12

There is no greater love in all the universe than the love the Father has for His Son. No doubt, the love Jesus has for the Father is just as infinite. It is a love beyond our natural ability to achieve. However, it is possible for you and me to love others with the same grand love the Father and the Son have. In fact Jesus made it a commandment. Therefore let us love one another as Christ has loved us.

Eyesalve: The Famine is Here

By | Eyesalve

Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: 12And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.” Amos 8:11-12

The days of a famine of the word are indeed upon us. No doubt, there are many Christians who are church hoppers, going from church to church looking to satisfy their carnal needs. But times have changed since I got saved over thirty years ago. There are still many Christians who are going from church to church today, except now they are searching for a church where the word of God is preached in Spirit and in truth. God, grant that these desperate hungry believers do find a church where there is a bountiful supply of the word of God.

Eyesalve: Thinks He Knows it All

By | Eyesalve

“And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 16As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.” II Peter 3:15-16

It took humility for Peter to say that he had a hard time understanding some of the things Paul wrote. It is true for every one of us that some things written in the Bible are hard to understand. This is true even for ministers. When a minister is asked a question about a passage in the Bible, there is nothing wrong, in fact it is right, for him to admit he doesn’t know the answer when he doesn’t. It does not disqualify a man from teaching the body when he doesn’t know the answer to everything. In fact the opposite is true, he is disqualified from teaching when he thinks he knows it all.

Eyesalve: Go Somewhere Else

By | Eyesalve

Also Amaziah said unto Amos, O thou seer, go, flee thee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there: 13But prophesy not again any more at Bethel: for it is the king’s chapel, and it is the king’s court.” Amos 7:12-13

King Amaziah represents self-serving ministers. Bethel means house of God. When ministers take possession of the church, instead of allow the Holy Spirit to be in charge, the last thing they ever want is some man or woman of God to come and prophesy. They say, just as Amaziah said to Amos, “Go somewhere else and do your prophesying, this is my church.”

Eyesalve: Wander From Truth

By | Eyesalve

Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back.” James 5:19

Those who preach “Once Saved, Always Saved,” insist that you cannot lose your salvation. If you know me, you know I hate the OSAS doctrine, yet I will agree that you can’t lose your salvation. Your salvation just doesn’t turn up missing one day in the middle of your life while you are loving Jesus. What can and does happen to Christians is that they wander from the truth. That is when a Christian needs to be turned back to the truth. The truth is how a person is made free. Rejecting the truth brings a believer back under bondage. Verse twenty goes on to say “Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.”

Eyesalve: Who Back it Up

By | Eyesalve

Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.” Hebrews 13:7

Don’t be so quick to follow just any minister who talks spiritual. The NKJV says it this way. “…considering the outcome of their conduct.” Those who don’t just teach and preach it, but display a life that backs up what they say are those who you are to imitate.

Eyesalve: Grace to Serve

By | Eyesalve

Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:” Hebrews 12:28

Some teach grace as just a means of salvation. No doubt that it is by grace we are saved. But it don’t stop there, in fact salvation is just the beginning of the work of grace in our life. We need grace to serve God, we need grace to do it with reverence and godly fear.

Eyesalve: Stay Busy Running

By | Eyesalve

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,” Hebrews 12:1

There are two forms of doing that is set forth in this verse. We can feel the weight and do the sin that so easily besets us, or we can run (do) the race that is set before us. If we stay busy running the race we won’t have to carry the weight of sin nor have time for sin.

Eyesalve: Is He There?

By | Eyesalve

It was round about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of the city from that day shall be, The LORD is there.” Ezekiel 48:35

Wouldn’t that be a great name for a church, The Lord is There? Is He there in your church?
