Eyesalve: Deeper Knowledge of God

By | Eyesalve

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:” Eph. 4:11-13

Ministers are called to perfect, edify and bring saints to a deeper knowledge of God, they are not called to keep the peoples religion going.

Eyesalve: What’s Recorded is Sufficient

By | Eyesalve

And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.” Jn. 20:30-31

More was heard, seen and done than was recorded. What was recorded is sufficient. If you needed more recorded, God would have had it recorded. With this you must be satisfied. After all, if there were more Gospels and Epistles in our bible it would just be more reading that wouldn’t get done, more things to believe that many would have a hard time believing and it would be more confirmation to obey those things which many refuse to obey. Thank you God for the exact length, words and details of Your word that You have had recorded for us.

Eyesalve: They Do The Work

By | Eyesalve

And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:” Jn. 20:22

Just as God breathed into Adam’s nostrils and he became the first living soul, Jesus breathed on His disciples and they became the first to be born of the Spirit. That very day was the first day that men were BORN AGAIN. From that day on the Spirit of God would dwell in men. 49 days later believers were filled with the Spirit which would usher the born again man out into a dark world and give him the power and boldness to speak against that darkness. Some men want to be filled with the Spirit, but have never been born again; that won’t work. Some believers want salvation, but don’t want to be filled; they don’t work. And last, some believers are filled with the Spirit; they do the work.

Eyesalve: His God and our God

By | Eyesalve

Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.” Jn. 20:17

Did you get what Jesus is saying here? His Father is our Father, His God is our God. Jesus is saying we have the same connection and privilege to the Father as He does. How awesome is that? Be encouraged today my brethren.

Eyesalve: Calm Assurance

By | Eyesalve

Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master.” Jn. 20:16

For those who know the Lord, He doesn’t have to speak very many words to get their attention. Maybe we at times expect for God to say a lot of things when He just wants to bring a calm assurance by calling our name.

Eyesalve: Christ is the Standard

By | Eyesalve

Speak not thou in thine heart, after that the LORD thy God hath cast them out from before thee, saying, For my righteousness the LORD hath brought me in to possess this land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD doth drive them out from before thee.” Dt. 9:4

One mistake Christians make is they compare themselves to others. The worse others behave the more righteous it makes others feel. But we must never compare ourselves to others, they are not our standard, Christ and the bible is our standard. We must not look down for our example we must look up. Even when you find a man or woman of God that is a great example, you must understand that they became that way by looking to Christ and His word, not others.

Eyesalve: You’re Being Reminded

By | Eyesalve

Hear, O Israel: Thou art to pass over Jordan this day, to go in to possess nations greater and mightier than thyself, cities great and fenced up to heaven, 2A people great and tall, the children of the Anakims, whom thou knowest, and of whom thou hast heard say, Who can stand before the children of Anak! 3Understand therefore this day, that the LORD thy God is he which goeth over before thee; as a consuming fire he shall destroy them, and he shall bring them down before thy face: so shalt thou drive them out, and destroy them quickly, as the LORD hath said unto thee.” Dt. 9:1-3

Of course those nations are greater and mightier than Israel, what would be the big deal to go in and conquer a cowardly feeble people. This situation they were in was a constant reminder to them that their dependence must remain in God. Every time you face a trial bigger than you, you are just being reminded that your dependence must remain in God.

Eyesalve: Sufficient For Today

By | Eyesalve

Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.” Acts 4:13

The people recognized that Peter and John were unlearned ignorant men, but that they had been with Jesus. Their boldness came through being with Jesus; if that was sufficient back then, it is still sufficient for today.

Eyesalve: Jesus Is Our Abundant Life

By | Eyesalve

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” Jn. 10:10

What a contrast between Jesus and the devil. The devil offers complete destruction while Jesus offers abundant life. Notice there is no middle ground? Christians should not be just getting by another day, they should not live a ho hum existence. I am not denying that we will face trials, but it is only a believer who can in the midst of a trial be living an abundant life. The reason is because Jesus is our abundant life. If a billionaire was thrown in jail for twenty years, would he still not have his billions of dollars? So too, if a believer is under persecution does he have any less of Jesus?
