Eyesalve: Wise Builders

By | Eyesalve

Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.” Pro. 14:1

Whenever the church fails you can be sure that it was the hands of man that brought it down. We must let the unfailing hands of God direct our steps. We must let Jesus continue to, “upon this rock I will build My church.”

Eyesalve: Much Food

By | Eyesalve

Much food is in the tillage of the poor: but there is that is destroyed for want of judgment.” Pro. 13:23

Just as the food is in the field for the poor who want it, so is the revelation of Christ there for the poor in Spirit who want it.

Eyesalve: Won’t Exchange

By | Eyesalve

The ransom of a man’s life are his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke.” Pr. 13:8

The rich man won’t exchange his riches for Christ. The true believer won’t exchange his Christ for riches.

Eyesalve: Remove The Suckers

By | Eyesalve

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.” Jn. 15:1-2

If you are good at gardening and you grow tomato plants then you understand that you have to cut off what they call “suckers.” These suckers suck the nutrients from the plant and soil that would otherwise go to the fruit. My first several years of growing tomato plants I did not prune them and remove those suckers. My plants would grow real tall and bushy. It took forever for my tomatoes to ripen. You could say they were all plant but not much fruit. So too, if we don’t allow God to prune us by abiding in the vine, then we will stand tall and proud, but produce very little fruit.

Eyesalve: Of A Truth

By | Eyesalve

Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.” Lk. 12:44

When someone says to you, “what I am going to say now is really the truth,” they are in a way saying that they don’t always say the truth. Jesus made this statement, “of a truth,” four times in the KJV bible. However, when Jesus said this, he wasn’t like man that says many things that aren’t of truth. You can be sure that anything and everything that Jesus said was, “Of a truth” and that it is the truth.

Eyesalve: Why I Love Going to Church (Reason #12)

By | Eyesalve

“Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. 10For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. 11Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? 12And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Ecc. 4:9-12

I love going to church because my brethren strengthen me so I cannot be “quickly broken.” Those that are independent of the church are like a single strand of string.

Eyesalve: Why I Love Going to Church (Reason #11)

“Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. 10For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. 11Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? 12And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Ecc. 4:9-12

I love going to church because I fall down sometimes. Sometimes I get cold. I need someone to pick me up and warm me up once in a while. I love being around fiery people. Those that are independent of the church need one of those gadgets that you can press the button and say, “I have fallen and I can’t get up.”

Eyesalve: Why I Love Going to Church (Reason #10)

By | Eyesalve

“And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.” Acts 4:31

The reason I love going to church is because I am afraid I might miss out on a mighty visitation from God.

Eyesalve: I Love Going to Church (Reason #9)

By | Eyesalve

“And when this epistle is read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that ye likewise read the epistle from Laodicea.” Col 4:16

I love going to church because I don’t want to miss out on any reading that will be shared amongst the church. Those who are independent of the church, you will only hear what they read.
