Eyesalve: They May Need To See

By | Eyesalve

“Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. 28And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. 29Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.” John 20:27-29

Thomas said I won’t believe unless I see, so Jesus let him see. Because Jesus let Thomas see, his immediate reaction was, “my Lord and my God.” Then Jesus said, blessed is he who believes without seeing. Jesus wasn’t necessarily rebuking Thomas for wanting to see, he was just saying you are more blessed if you will believe without seeing. I want to be blessed by not seeing, but I will not look down on my brethren because they may need to see a miracle or get encouraged by a tangible presence of the Lord.

Eyesalve: We Are To Love

By | Eyesalve

“Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;” Mt. 5:43-44

This is the first time it is recorded in the gospels where Jesus teaches about love. His first mention of it is directed toward man and the obligation he has to love. Jesus goes on to teach on how man is to love God and love His neighbor, more than He teaches about how God loves us. About 16 verses in the gospels, Jesus exhorts man to love God and man, while only around 7 times does Jesus refer to God’s love for us. Some of these preachers today really have this reversed.

Eyesalve: Overload of Joy

By | Eyesalve

“And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?” Lk. 24;41

Did you ever have a hard time believing something to be true because the joy it would bring would be beyond something you have ever experienced? Your mind might think such things as, I don’t deserve that much joy, or it isn’t possible in this miserable world to experience such joy or God don’t give people great joy because He wants us to suffer. Well saints, start believing for an overload of joy. You will be preparing for heaven.

Eyesalve: Read It All

By | Eyesalve

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” II Tim. 3:16

Reading and receiving the whole bible, both Old and New Testaments, will correct much false teaching. It is not just the holy bible, it is wholly the bible.

Eyesalve: Wine and the Spirit

By | Eyesalve

“For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother’s womb.” Lk. 1:15

Wine and strong drink, and the Holy Ghost, are just not compatible.

Eyesalve: There is Liberty #4

By | Eyesalve

“Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” II Cor. 3:17

When we gather together in fellowship and lack liberty, we may blame it on the rules that the elders have put in place, or we may make statements like we are too religious around here. However, the only answer can be is that the Spirit of the Lord isn’t present. Of course where two or three meet in His name the Lord is there. People that are saved can get together and bring the Lord with them because God is in them, but if the Spirit’s presence isn’t the front-runner, if the Spirit isn’t given control of our lives and our gathering together, there will be a lack of liberty. The more we lack liberty the greater we will feel the bondage. Saints, make it your prayer that when you meet together with your local assembly that the Holy Spirit will have preeminence.

Eyesalve: There is Liberty #3

By | Eyesalve

“Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” 3:17

Liberty is the death of sinful desires and a birth of desire for righteousness. Being dead to sinful desires nullifies or robs sin of its hold and demands upon the flesh.

Eyesalve: There is Liberty #2

By | Eyesalve

“Now the Lord is that Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” II Cor 3:17

Just as, where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty, so too where ever the flesh of man is, there is bondage. Watchman Nee said, “That which violates the law is the flesh, and that which attempts to keep the law is also the flesh.” Your flesh can’t win, whether you violate or try to keep the law, you are in bondage.

Eyesalve: There is Liberty

By | Eyesalve

Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” II Cor. 3:17

Bondage is not the demand to keep laws, bondage is the demand to keep laws that you have no ability to keep. Liberty is not the freedom from laws and principles, liberty is the power and desire to keep that which pleases God.

Eyesalve: To Much

By | Eyesalve

And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing. 7For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much.” Ex. 36:6-7

I recently heard that one of these rich popular preachers asked his church to help make him a billionaire. I’ve noticed these prosperity preachers are no different than the rich people of this world, they can never seem to get enough money. Well they need to know that even God said there was no more need to collect anymore offerings. He even said what came in was already “to much.” If you are content with Christ, then what you have is sufficient. If you are not content with Christ, then you can never have enough.
