EYE SALVE

“…Anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.” Revelation 3:18

A Daily Devotional by Pastor Terry Fischer

Eye Salve is a short devotional that Pastor Terry Fischer writes regularly to challenge and encourage the saints of God.

It is meant to be short and sweet and comes from his daily reading and prayer.

Why?

By | Eyesalve

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.” Psalm 1:1

Why would any of us walk in the counsel of the ungodly when we can walk in the Spirit? Why would any of us stand in the path of sinners when we can in liberty? Why would any of us sit in the seat of the scornful when we can be seated in heavenly places?

Speak of Them

By | Eyesalve

Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:” I Peter 4:4

While those who speak evil of us believers who will not run with them, we believers can speak to God about them who will not run with us.

They’re Strange

By | Eyesalve

Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:” I Peter 4:4

The world think it is strange that we believers do not run with them. Well, I think it is strange that they don’t run with us. So there.

What Will You Proclaim?

By | Eyesalve

Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.” Luke 12:3

Those who say hateful and vengeful things when no one is listening, has much to fear on the day it is proclaimed upon the housetops. For believers, it must not be so. It should be a day we rejoice to see when all the praises and prayers we said in our closets will be proclaimed upon the housetops. What will you be proclaiming on the housetop?

Everyday Filled

By | Eyesalve

And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.” Ephesians 3:19

If Paul prayed for the believers in Ephesus to be filled with the fullness of God; and this was written for us, then we therefore can be filled with the fullness of God. Let’s not be just Sunday Christians, let’s be everyday filled with the Spirit Christians.

Christ’s Body Will Be Seen

By | Eyesalve

Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.” I Corinthians 12:27

We believers are the body of Christ whenever we meet. When we assemble, being all fleshy and worldly, the world will be exposed to a heavy dose of us. But if we meet in the fruit and power of the Spirit, then it is Christ’s BODY that will be seen.

Be Particular

By | Eyesalve

Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.” I Corinthians 12:27

Have you ever heard anyone say to you, “Don’t be so particular?” Well if anyone says that to you, ignore it. Go ahead and be particular. Find that particular place in the body of Christ.

Membership

By | Eyesalve

Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.” I Corinthians 12:27

You aren’t a member of the body of Christ because you filled out a membership form and it was voted on by a panel and accepted. You don’t automatically become a member under a family membership plan. You have to be born again to be a member. The instant you are born again you become a member. You are born a member.
