EYE SALVE

“…Anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.” Revelation 3:18

A Daily Devotional by Pastor Terry Fischer

Eye Salve is a short devotional that Pastor Terry Fischer writes regularly to challenge and encourage the saints of God.

It is meant to be short and sweet and comes from his daily reading and prayer.

Eyesalve: Pleasure in Uprightness

By | Eyesalve

I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee.” I Chronicles 29:17

We don’t try God, He tries us. He doesn’t try us to get us to buckle under temptation and pressure, He tries us because it is His pleasure and way to bring out the uprightness in our heart.

Eyesalve: Who Then is Willing?

By | Eyesalve

“The gold for things of gold, and the silver for things of silver, and for all manner of work to be made by the hands of artificers. And who then is willing to consecrate his service this day unto the LORD?” II Chronicle 29:5

The problem with many Christians is that they think that since they are not called to be a minister, they don’t need to be consecrated. Consecration is for all who are willing to serve God.

Eyesalve: Prepare Meals

By | Eyesalve

Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.” Acts 20:28

Some men, in preparation to go into the pastorate, they take business classes. Others may take leadership classes. However, men of God are not called to run the church like a business, or lead the flock with leadership principles, they just need to learn how to prepare meals. They need to feed the flock of God well balanced spiritual meals.

Eyesalve: Wrath Has An End

By | Eyesalve

And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.” Revelation 15:1

Filled up” means to be complete or come to conclusion. So with that in mind I say, God’s love is eternal, it continues for ever; God’s wrath can be “filled up.” It does come to an end. Hallelujah!

Eyesalve: Rest

By | Eyesalve

Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days. 10He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.” II Chronicles 22:9-10

No one can ever build for the kingdom of God out of panic. It is only when you enter God’s rest that you can be a help to His kingdom.

Eyesalve: Prepare the Next Generation

By | Eyesalve

And David said, Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be builded for the LORD must be exceeding magnifical, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will therefore now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.” I Chronicles 22:5

King David, before his death, ordered stone to be hewn and cedar to be gathered and nails to be made from iron, for the construction of the temple. So too, must the church and ministry today prepare the next generation to lead and minister to the church, the house of the Lord.

Eyesalve: Need To Go

By | Eyesalve

Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.” Acts 2:47

New converts need to go to church for their own spiritual growth. Mature saints need to go to church so they will continue to grow and be a testimony, blessing and a minister to those who need to grow.

Eyesalve: Already Chiseled #2

By | Eyesalve

And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.” I Kings 6:7

Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ” (I Peter 2:5).

Only lively stones can be used to build the spiritual house of God.
