EYE SALVE

“…Anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.” Revelation 3:18

A Daily Devotional by Pastor Terry Fischer

Eye Salve is a short devotional that Pastor Terry Fischer writes regularly to challenge and encourage the saints of God.

It is meant to be short and sweet and comes from his daily reading and prayer.

Generation To Come

By | Eyesalve

Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying,” Joshua 1:1

Thank God there was another man who God called to lead and who God would talk to in the generation that followed after Moses. We have had men in decades past who have led Christ’s church and have had the Lord talk to them. Thank God we have such men today in our generation. I have a question for the young saints. Will there be such men in the next generation to come?

The Good That Jesus Did

By | Eyesalve

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” Acts 10:38

Let us ask God to anoint us to do the kind of good that Jesus did. The good He did was heal people of demonic oppression. We could do all kinds of nice things for people, but what good would it be if they were left under the bondage of the devil?

Notable Miracles

By | Eyesalve

Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.” Acts 4:16

Lord, grant that your power would be on display through us Your church, so those who witness it would not be able to deny it. Let us never cause those that we witness to become skeptics.

You Have to Take It

By | Eyesalve

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;” Acts 3:19

The word converted comes from the Greek word epistrepho which means to revert or turn. This word brings more clarity of what it means to repent. Salvation is a free gift, but you still have to do something to get it. I know saying something like that causes a lot of Christians to get nervous. However, you have to repent of your sins and turn away from them and turn to God if you want salvation. It is not different than if someone gives you a present. You have to reach out and take it from them. So if one is going to get saved, they have to humble themselves and turn to God to get it.

Prove to the World

By | Eyesalve

Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:” Acts 2:22

The “miracles and wonders and signs which God did” through Jesus, proved He was sent from God. If God did miracles through Jesus, who was the perfect Son of God, to prove He was from God, then how much more do we the church need God to perform “miracles and wonders and signs” through us to prove to the world we are from God.

Which Group?

By | Eyesalve

And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this? 13Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.” Acts 2:12-13

When the Holy Spirit fell on the day of Pentecost, the Spirit gave utterance to them all and they spoke in tongues. There were two responses from the people. The first responders asked, “What does this mean?” The second responders accused them of being drunk. The first responders wanted to know more, they were open to know what it was all about. The second responders were doubters and skeptics. What group do you the most identify with?

More Than Conquerors

By | Eyesalve

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” Romans 8:37

Christians, through Christ, can conquer and overcome any and everything in this life. The word goes on to tell us that we are even more than conquerors. So let me ask, “Are you just a sinner saved by grace, or are you more than a conqueror?”

Powerful Prayers

By | Eyesalve

“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” John 15:7

First comes the faith that causes us to abide in Christ, then comes the powerful prayers.
