Eyesalve: As Christ Has loved

By | Eyesalve

As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love12This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.” John 15:9,12

There is no greater love in all the universe than the love the Father has for His Son. No doubt, the love Jesus has for the Father is just as infinite. It is a love beyond our natural ability to achieve. However, it is possible for you and me to love others with the same grand love the Father and the Son have. In fact Jesus made it a commandment. Therefore let us love one another as Christ has loved us.

Eyesalve: New Family

By | Eyesalve

And Boaz answered and said unto her, It hath fully been shewed me, all that thou hast done unto thy mother in law since the death of thine husband: and how thou hast left thy father and thy mother, and the land of thy nativity, and art come unto a people which thou knewest not heretofore.” Ruth 2:11

Every true believer, whether it happened to them physically or not, had to determine in their heart to leave their father and mother and their land, and become a part of a family that they did not know. This new family is the body of Christ, the church of the living God.

Eyesalve: Testimony of Three

By | Eyesalve

And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. 16And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:15-17

In this setting we read that Jesus spoke, the Spirit landed on Jesus and the Father spoke. This is the greatest testimony of three this world has ever known.

Eyesalve: His God and our God

By | Eyesalve

Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.” Jn. 20:17

Did you get what Jesus is saying here? His Father is our Father, His God is our God. Jesus is saying we have the same connection and privilege to the Father as He does. How awesome is that? Be encouraged today my brethren.

Eyesalve: Through Revelation

By | Eyesalve

At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. 26Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. 27All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.” Mt. 11:25-27

Our generation has such a hard time understanding that man does not get saved by having an intellectual understanding of the gospel. To convince someone of the gospel in their mind is not salvation. Salvation comes by revelation to those who humble themselves as a babe.

Eyesalve: Much More Than We Think

By | Eyesalve

“And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.” Lk. 15:19

The prodigal believed his father was merciful enough to let him be a servant. He found his father to be much more compassionate than he thought. Our Heavenly Father wants us to know that He is much more than we think.

Eyesalve: There Are Three

By | Eyesalve

“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” I Jn. 5:7

The word of God can often be logical, but sometimes it isn’t. Sometimes you can strengthen a doctrine by adding logic and sometimes you can’t. There was a man I got to know over 30 years ago who belonged to a church that denied the triune God. Their doctrine is usually referred to as Jesus only or the oneness doctrine. Their church affiliation is usually labeled as apostolic or United Pentecostal. Anyway, this man tried to use logic on me to try to convince me that Jesus and the Father are one. So he asked me if I am a son, and of course I confirmed that I was. Then he asked me if I was a father, and since I had three sons, I confirmed that as well. So he said the same thing with the Father and the Son, they are just one person. Well, being young in the Lord I was still not persuaded by this argument. Let’s use his point of logic for a minute. I am a son, because I have a father. I am a father because I have a son. It takes three people for this to happen, my dad, me and my first born son. This man’s logic actually supports the trinity more than it does oneness. Yes, there are three that bear witness in heaven.
