Eyesalve: If You Yield

By | Eyesalve

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,” Jude 1:24

At first glance you may not see how similar this verse in Jude is to Romans 14:17 which says, “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.” However, these two verses are closely connected. For the Lord “to keep you from falling” means that His righteousness is constantly constraining you. The only way “to present you faultless” is to have the peace of God, otherwise you would fear His presence. And last, you can live a life of “exceeding joy.” All of this is yours if your life is yielded to the Holy Ghost.

Eyesalve: Thy Lord

By | Eyesalve

His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” Matthew 25:21

To enter “into the joy of thy Lord” Jesus Christ, you have to first be saved by Jesus Christ the Savior. Yet the verse does not say, enter into the joy of thy Savior. So I ask, is He your Lord?

Eyesalve: Wisdom of this World

By | Eyesalve

Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?” I Cor. 1:20

For starters, the wisdom of this world says give up eternal peace and joy to seek after a few trinkets now.

Eyesalve: Are You Departing? (#6)

By | Eyesalve

“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;”

Only those who are born again through faith can depart from faith. We believers are warned, that in these last days, there will be Christians who will depart from faith in God. There is not one of us reading this that is beyond falling away. May I encourage you all to strengthen your walk in the Lord? Following are signs that may indicate you are in the process of departing from the faith or already have. Number 6

If you lack peace and joy

Eyesalve: Joy is Strength (#2)

By | Eyesalve

Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” Neh. 8:10

Some Christians are taught that it is unholy or carnal or at least immature to express emotion in church. However, that is the ingredients to a weak church. Consider also that Romans 14:17 teaches us that the kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and JOY in the Holy Ghost. So I guess I can say if the Spirit of God is truly present in our meetings, then it is very normal for joy to be expressed. People that rejoice in Christ are a strong people.

Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” Neh. 8:10

Some Christians lack strength because they lack joy.

Eyesalve: The Presence of the Lord

By | Eyesalve

“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” Ps. 16:11

When we assemble together, we need the Lord to be present in such a way that we can feel the life and love of His presence. If the Lord is present in such a way these three things will be evident in God’s people.

1. A Spirit of joy will well up in the believers. For the kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and JOY in the Holy Ghost.

Eyesalve: The Greatest Pleasure

By | Eyesalve

“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” Ps. 16:11

The greatest purpose of man is to give glory to God. The greatest pleasure of man is to be in the presence of the Lord.

Eyesalve: Overload of Joy

By | Eyesalve

“And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?” Lk. 24;41

Did you ever have a hard time believing something to be true because the joy it would bring would be beyond something you have ever experienced? Your mind might think such things as, I don’t deserve that much joy, or it isn’t possible in this miserable world to experience such joy or God don’t give people great joy because He wants us to suffer. Well saints, start believing for an overload of joy. You will be preparing for heaven.
