Eyesalve: Don’t Cause More to be Written

By | Eyesalve

Then took Jeremiah another roll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah; who wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire: and there were added besides unto them many like words.” Jeremiah 36:32

Jehoiakim refused to heed the words of Jeremiah that were written on a scroll and he burned them. So Jeremiah gave Baruch another scroll to write down the words again, but this time, more words were added. You see, rules are for those who will not be ruled. Laws are for the lawless. The more you obey God, the more liberty you will feel. If you disobey God, the weightier the words of God are and more rules will be needed to constrain you.

Eyesalve: Public Spectacle

By | Eyesalve

And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” Col. 2:15

The NKJV uses the words “public spectacle” instead of “made a shew of them openly,” To be made a public spectacle means to be embarrassed, or belittled before all. It means that there is someone or something more worthy. Jesus made a public spectacle of the law in that He showed it had no power to change or save anyone. He made it become and embarrassment to anyone who thought they could use the law to justify themselves before God.

Eyesalve: With The Same Grace

By | Eyesalve

Bring forth him that hath cursed without the camp; and let all that heard him lay their hands upon his head, and let all the congregation stone him.” Lev. 24:14

If I was living under the law, I wouldn’t want to hear someone curse God because I would have to be in agreement with their stoning. I wouldn’t want to lay my hands on their head or be one that would have to throw the stones. I’m sure none of you would want to be in that place either. Thank God we are not under the law. However, we have a responsibility and obligation toward one another in the church that if any of us sins, those that know of it must not shrug it off or have no care for their soul. I am not suggesting we become spiritual law enforcers and go around the church watching for anyone to sin. I am not suggesting that we deal harshly with any of our brethren that may sin. I am insisting that we lift them up before the Lord, and if need be, confront them about their sin. If you must approach someone about their sin, do it with the same grace that Jesus approached you with when He saved you.

Eyesalve: Don’t Shrug It Off

Bring forth him that hath cursed without the camp; and let all that heard him lay their hands upon his head, and let all the congregation stone him.” Lev. 24:14

I could see that if we were living under the law we wouldn’t want to hear someone curse God because we would have to be in agreement with their stoning. I wouldn’t want to lay my hands on their head or be one that would have to throw the stones. I’m sure none of you would want to be in that place either. Thank God we are not under the law, however we have a responsibility and obligation toward one another in the church that if any of us sins, others that know of it will not shrug it off or have no care for their soul. I am not suggesting we become spiritual law enforcers and go around the church watching for anyone to sin. I am not suggesting that we deal harshly with any of our brethren that may sin. I am insisting that we lift them up before the Lord, and if need be confront them about their sin, but do it with the same grace that Jesus approached you when He saved you.

Eyesalve: Be Right With God

By | Eyesalve

Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?” I Cor. 6:7

It is far better to be right with God than to obtain your rights.

Eyesalve: Legalism Soothes

By | Eyesalve

Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.” Gal. 5:4

One reason some Christians who are backsliding will gravitate toward legalism is because it preoccupies and soothes their conscience so they don’t see they are subtly falling from grace.

Eyesalve: Are You Departing: (Final)

By | Eyesalve

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;” I Tim. 4:1

Only those who are born again through faith can depart from faith. We believers are warned, that in these last days, there will be Christians who will depart from faith in God. There is not one of us reading this that is beyond falling away. May I encourage you all to strengthen your walk in the Lord? Following are signs that may indicate you are in the process of departing from the faith or already have. Final point.

If you are reverting back to the law and the ordinances of man.

Eyesalve: Outweighs and Overrules

By | Eyesalve

“And Hezekiah sent to all Israel and Judah, and wrote letters also to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come to the house of the LORD at Jerusalem, to keep the passover unto the LORD God of Israel. 2For the king had taken counsel, and his princes, and all the congregation in Jerusalem, to keep the passover in the second month.” II Chron. 30:1-2

Hezekiah ordered that they keep the Passover in the second month. The Passover was supposed to be celebrated in the first month, yet God did not consider that Hezekiah was being disobedient to the law. It was in Hezekiah’s heart to turn all Israel back to God. A right heart outweighs and overrules the detail of the law.

Eyesalve: There is Liberty #2

By | Eyesalve

“Now the Lord is that Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” II Cor 3:17

Just as, where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty, so too where ever the flesh of man is, there is bondage. Watchman Nee said, “That which violates the law is the flesh, and that which attempts to keep the law is also the flesh.” Your flesh can’t win, whether you violate or try to keep the law, you are in bondage.
