Eyesalve: The Prophet is God’s Compassion

By | Eyesalve

“And the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place: 16But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.” II Chron 36:15-16

Out of all the ministry gifts, the prophet is the least accepted and respected. They are especially despised by those that are self-righteous or think they have arrived. Prophets are often looked at as negative, judgmental and lacking love. But it is actually the opposite. The prophet is sent forth by God’s compassion. Don’t reject the true Prophet, see Him as a vessel of God’s compassion.

Eyesalve: The Sword Cuts

By | Eyesalve

“Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.” Mt. 10:34

When we minister the word by the Spirit we will minister the same way Jesus did. Jesus came to bring the sword. This means that the words He speaks will cut to the heart. There are many preachers today that don’t like that so they do the best to eliminate the sword. I don’t especially care to see the negative reaction and rejection when the gospel is preached, but if we are going to preach with the same authority that Jesus did, we too will bring a sword.

Eyesalve: The Anointing #5

By | Eyesalve

“Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;” II Cor.

Some Christians may think that someone has the anointing only when the results are positive. I know I have been deceived into thinking that when I say something, and it is rejected by men, I am therefore lacking the anointing. However, there was no one with as great of anointing as Jesus Christ, and yet many rejected Him, even after great displays of power. Jesus ministered to thousands, but even after His resurrection there was only 120 in the upper room. The anointing doesn’t make people get saved, the anointing reveals Christ to the listener, so they know they need to be saved.
