Eyesalve: Through Revelation

By | Eyesalve

At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. 26Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. 27All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.” Mt. 11:25-27

Our generation has such a hard time understanding that man does not get saved by having an intellectual understanding of the gospel. To convince someone of the gospel in their mind is not salvation. Salvation comes by revelation to those who humble themselves as a babe.

Eyesalve: Much More Than We Think

By | Eyesalve

“And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.” Lk. 15:19

The prodigal believed his father was merciful enough to let him be a servant. He found his father to be much more compassionate than he thought. Our Heavenly Father wants us to know that He is much more than we think.

Eyesalve: There Are Three

By | Eyesalve

“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” I Jn. 5:7

The word of God can often be logical, but sometimes it isn’t. Sometimes you can strengthen a doctrine by adding logic and sometimes you can’t. There was a man I got to know over 30 years ago who belonged to a church that denied the triune God. Their doctrine is usually referred to as Jesus only or the oneness doctrine. Their church affiliation is usually labeled as apostolic or United Pentecostal. Anyway, this man tried to use logic on me to try to convince me that Jesus and the Father are one. So he asked me if I am a son, and of course I confirmed that I was. Then he asked me if I was a father, and since I had three sons, I confirmed that as well. So he said the same thing with the Father and the Son, they are just one person. Well, being young in the Lord I was still not persuaded by this argument. Let’s use his point of logic for a minute. I am a son, because I have a father. I am a father because I have a son. It takes three people for this to happen, my dad, me and my first born son. This man’s logic actually supports the trinity more than it does oneness. Yes, there are three that bear witness in heaven.
