Eyesalve: A Terror To Thyself

By | Eyesalve

For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will make thee a terror to thyself, and to all thy friends: and they shall fall by the sword of their enemies, and thine eyes shall behold it: and I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall carry them captive into Babylon, and shall slay them with the sword.” Jeremiah 20:4

If our present day ministers don’t knock it off with all their strategies, techniques and programs to build the church instead of depending on the leading and the power of the Holy Spirit, they will become “a terror to thyself.” They will see the church they have built and gloried in, fall apart right before their eyes. The only thing that will remain is that which was founded on the Rock.

Eyesalve: Gird Up Your Sword

By | Eyesalve

And David said unto his men, Gird ye on every man his sword. And they girded on every man his sword; and David also girded on his sword: and there went up after David about four hundred men; and two hundred abode by the stuff.” I Samuel 25:13

When you raise up an offense against the devil, don’t forget to gird up your sword, God’s word and expect those believers with you to do the same.

Eyesalve: We Can’t Lose

By | Eyesalve

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” Rom 8:35-37

Who, but Christians, can be in the midst of tribulation, distress, persecution and such and never be the loser?

Eyesalve: The Sword Cuts

By | Eyesalve

“Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.” Mt. 10:34

When we minister the word by the Spirit we will minister the same way Jesus did. Jesus came to bring the sword. This means that the words He speaks will cut to the heart. There are many preachers today that don’t like that so they do the best to eliminate the sword. I don’t especially care to see the negative reaction and rejection when the gospel is preached, but if we are going to preach with the same authority that Jesus did, we too will bring a sword.

Eyesalve: Will You Draw Your Sword?

By | Eyesalve

“And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?” Joshua 5:13

This man (the preincarnate Christ), who Joshua saw, was not sitting back on an easy chair, He wasn’t standing with flip flops doing the peace sign with his fingers. He had his sword drawn. Though we are to try the best we can to be at peace with all men, this scene reminds us that we are in a constant battle. The battle is not of flesh and blood. It is a spiritual battle. We are to, especially in these closing hours, contend for the faith. Will you draw your sword (of the Spirit?)
